Class of 44
Class of ’44 was released in 1973, this comedy film is the sequel to ‘Summer of ’42″. Directed by Paul Bogart it stars Gary Grimes, Jerry Houser, Oliver Conant and John Candy in his film debut in the unaccredited role as Paule. It begins by Oscy and Benjie graduating from high school. Benjie departs shortly to war while Hermie and Oscy go on to college and begin to experience fraternity hazings, cheating on exams and wild sex scandals. Oscy starts to have a fear he won’t last long in college, which leads his attention away from studying and onto girls. He eventually gets expelled for having a girl in his room. Hermie grows apart from his childhood friend Oscy and begins a relationship with Julie that allows him to settle down into maturity.
