Starring Leon Robinson (Derice Bannock), Doug E. Doug (Sanka Coffie), Malik Yoba (Yul Brenner) and John Candy as Irving Blitzer. Cool Running’s is a comedy based on true and actual events. Not selected for the Olympics as a sprinter, Derice tries his hand as part of a bobsleigh team. With the help of disgraced ex-athlete Irv Blitzer, the team make progress. In Canada, against the odds, they qualify, and despite a horrific crash in their third run, due to the blades falling off, the team are uninjured and compete again at the next Olympics. When they return four years later to compete once again at the Winter Olympics, they are finally treated as equals.
