Going Berserk
Going Berserk was released in 1983 and was directed by David Steinberg. The film grossed $234,950,000 nationally. Starring John Candy (John Bourgignon), Joe Flaherty (Chick Leff) and Eugene Levy (Sal DiPasquale). The story begins with Limo driver, John Bourgignon who is engaged to Nancy Reese. Her father, Congressman Ed Reese, is running for president and crusading against cult leader Sun Yi. Misadventure and intrigue stalk John and Nancy’s path to the altar. Apparently, the congressman has many enemies and now John is their main target . Bourgignon somewhat saves the day and lives happily ever after. This wacky comedy spoofs many kung fu movies the TV show “Leave it to Beaver” and the classic movie “The Manchurian Candidate”.
