Once Upon a Crime
Once Upon a Crime was released in 1992 and was directed by Eugene Levy. The film grossed $8,669,847 nationally. It starred John Candy as Augie Morosco, James Belushi as Neil Schwary, Ornella Muti as Elena Morosco, Cybil Shepherd as Marilyn Schwary, Richard Lewis as Julian Peters and Sean Young as Phoebe. Phoebe, an American tourist stranded in Rome, finds a lost dachshund whose owner is offering a large reward. Struggling actor Julian also spots the dog and Phoebe resentfully agrees to split the money with him. Unfortunately, the dog’s owner Madam Van Dougan, is murdered and Phoebe and Julian find themselves implicated in the crime. The two get caught up with a few other suspects for the crime and soon they think that going to jail for a crime they didn’t commit is looking better and better.
