Planes, Trains & Automobiles was released in 1987 and John Hughes wrote and directed this heartwarming comedy. The film’s budget was $15,000,000 and grossed $150,823,000 worldwide. Starring Steve Martin (Neal Page) and John Candy (Del Griffith). The story begins with Neal Page is in New York where his company is trying to finalize a marketing image for cosmetics. After several hours of not even getting the design finalized, all Neal wants to do is to get home for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, due to heavy snow in Chicago, the flight is diverted to Wichita, KS. The flight is cancelled soon after, and Neal is forced to face facts that there are no more hotel rooms available in the City. Being polite, Del agrees to help him find a room where he’s staying if Neal will pay for the cab fare. Together, the two miss matched men become unwilling traveling companions. Neal soon finds that Del is never Griffith, Shower Curtain Ring Salesman and all-around blabbermouth, who is never short of advice, conversation, bad jokes, or company.
